Dr. Salah Rubayi graduated from Baghdad University in 1966. He completed his General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residency in the United Kingdom with licensure from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians in Edinburgh, Scotland, U.K. in 1974. In 1981 he did a fellowship in Burn Surgery at LAC+USC Burn Unit and then Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehab Center. Dr. Rubayi has been on the staff at Rancho during the last 35 years. Dr. Rubayi is Chief of the Pressure Ulcer Management program and Chairman of Department of Surgery. Dr. Rubayi is a Professor of Clinical Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery at USC School of Medicine. Dr. Rubayi is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Fellow of the International Spinal Cord Society and member of Asia and American Paraplegia Society. Dr. Rubayi published and contributes to many articles in the field of reconstructive surgery of pressure ulcers. Dr. Rubayi participated in combined NIH research projects with USC, Dept. of Physical Therapy for Electrical Stimulation in wound healing and the Dept. of Occupational Therapy for prevention of pressure ulcers in SCI consumers. Dr. Rubayi is on the editorial board of the Journal of JSCM, and his book of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery for Pressure Ulcers was published in June 2015. Dr. Rubayi is widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading experts in reconstructive surgery of pressure ulcers especially in spinal cord injury patients.
Dr. Matthew Broadhurst is a fellowship trained laryngologist specialising in laryngeal surgery & voice restoration. He returned to Brisbane from Boston, Massachusetts in 2007 having worked for 2 years at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. He has a tertiary referral practice in voice and larynx disorders and utilises state of the art techniques in surgery to the upper airway including KTP laser, Avastin and Coblation. He has special interests in vocal fold paralysis, early glottic cancer, vocal fold nodules/cyst, laryngeal stenosis, papilloma and has a large office-based laryngeal surgery practice. He is actively involved in clinical research and education both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Ricardo Pardo is the Coordinator of Oncohealth Breast & Head of Section at Fundacion Jimenez Diaz University Hospital, Madrid, Spain.He has trained more than 190 surgeons in Ciudad Real and continued with the Courses at Fundación Jimenez Diaz University Hospital in Madrid. Dr. Ricardo Pardo has coordinated the Laparoscopic Advanced Unit (1994-2006) and created the Breast Reconstruction Unit in 2006 in Ciudad Real (Ciudad Real University General Hospital). He is currently the President of AECIMA (Spanish Association of Breast Surgeon) & member of the Board of SESPM(Spanish Scociety of Breast) & member of many National & International Societies. Dr. Ricardo does his private work in Ciudad Real Quirón Hospital mainly dedicated to Breast , endocrine and abdominal wall surgery with one surgical list and one clinic every week. He does all his breast reconstructions there and collaborate with a plastic surgeon in his aesthetic breast surgery operating a mean of 250 patients a year.
Dr. Stavros Gourgiotis is a Consultant General Surgeon and Trauma Lead at Addenbrooke’s Cambridge University Hospital. He has deep and varied experience of clinical and surgical work as a physician as well as a teacher and researcher in areas related to general and emergency surgery, trauma and critical care. He has a broad training in general, laparoscopic, emergency surgery and trauma. He has been working for many years in emergency departments as Consultant surgeon and as Department Head. His experience in Intensive Care Medicine allows him to feel confident in treatment of critically ill patients. In parallel with his clinical work he has initiated numerous research projects and collaborated extensively with international and public sector organisations. He is committed to maintaining a high output of publications, especially in high profile academic journals. He has attended many conferences with oral, poster presentations and lectures and workshops as faculty member. These workshops include advanced surgical skills training and training in the management of surgical emergency patients as well as the management of surgical patients in ICU.
He works as the director in Department of Head & Neck Surgery of Sichuan Cancer Hospital & institute now. He has been working as a doctor in prevention and treatment of head and neck surgery for more than 10 years. He is an expert in head and neck cancer surgery and one of academic leader of Sichuan Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission. He can perform surgical treatments for various types of head and neck tumours in high quality, especially does well in the comprehensive treatment of advanced tumours and the first stage of tumour defect and function reconstruction in the head and neck. He participated in the writing "Diagnostic Guidelines for Differentiated Thyroid Cancer", which is the first diagnostic guidelines for differentiated thyroid cancer in China. He has attended the cancer conferences several times, such as Global Oncology Academic Exchange Program (GAP), Current Status of Surgical Treatment of Head and Neck Tumours in the United States (CCHNS), Advances in the Treatment of Thyroid and Parathyroid Gland Tumours in the United States, Cancer Biology and Medical Conferences in the Asia-Pacific Region, National Head and Neck Cancer and so on. He was invited as a guest to attend the 14th World Head and Neck Cancer Conference of RGCON and exchange at the conference in 2015.He is the editorial board member and reviewer of many international publications, including Current Oncology sORL reviewer of the Medical Research Archives and so on. He has published more than 100 papers, won 12 provincial and municipal science and technology awards and obtained 11 national patents. His clinical study of thyroid cancer made him win the first prize in the National Oncology Conference in 2014.
Altintas (13.05.1983) is Professor for Plastic surgery in Germany. He was graduated from Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. His Doctoral thesis was about Tendon Transfer for Radial nerve Palsy at the BG Trauma Center Ludwigshafen, Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery at the Ruperto Carola University of Heidelberg, Heidelberg, Germany. He has a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Public health from Ruperto Carola University in Heidelberg. His surgical career started at the general surgery at the University Heidelberg, followed by German Center of Trauma Surgery at the Hannover Medical School. He worked at the Department of Plastic Surgery, Burn and Hand Surgery Center, Cologne Merheim, Germany. Altintas hold board certification for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery. He was Senior Consultant at the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery at the University of Essen , Essen, Germany, and since 2011, he has been an Vice Director of the Department of Plastic Surgery Diakonische Kliniken Hannover. Dr. Altintas is a member of the editorial board in numerous Journals in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery such as Advanced in Wound care ( impact Factor 5.2) He presented more than 80 papers at national and international scientific meetings. He has published more than 50 peer reviewed papers in scientific journals and various book chapters.
Dr. M.A. Gil-Olarte is an Associate Professor of Surgery at University of Castilla, Spain. She continues her work as Breast Surgeon and as Clinical Instructor in Surgery at Hospital General Universitario de Ciudad Real, Spain. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine at University de Cadiz, Spain and was Internal Medical Resident of CGAD at Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal, Spain during 2003-2008. She got her Doctorate about Breast Reconstruction at University of Álcala. In 2012 she completed Specialization Course in Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery at Complexo Hospitalario Universitario A Coruña. She has Masters Degree completed in Laparoscopic Surgery II, 2008, Digestive Oncology in 2018, Actualization in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Techniques in Radiology in 2019 & Actualization in General Surgery and Digestive System in 2020. She has completed Postgraduate Courses in Advanced Trauma Life Support Course, Definitive Surgical Trauma Care Course at Johannesburg, South Africa, and European Trauma course at Coimbra, Portugal. She is a DSTC Certified International, ATLS and ETC Instructor. She is a member of European Society of Surgical Oncology, International Association for Trauma and Intensive Care, & Asociación Española de Cirujanos. She has participated in various International Conferences as a speaker.
Segundo Mesa Castillo. As Specialist in Neurology, he worked for 10 years in the Institute of Neurology of Havana, Cuba. He has worked in Electron Microscopic Studies on Schizophrenia for 32 years. He was awarded with the International Price of the Stanley Foundation Award Program and for the Professional Committee to work as a fellowship position in the Laboratory of the Central Nervous System Studies, National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke under Dr. Joseph Gibbs for a period of 6 months, National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, Washington D.C. USA, June 5, 1990.
Prof.Dr. Esra KÜPELİ AKKOL was born in Turkey. She got her Bachelor of Science degree in Faculty of Pharmacy, Gazi University, Turkey and got her Ph.D. degree in Pharmacognosy Department from the University of Gazi. She is currently Professor in the Gazi University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacognosy. She served in many capacities in her field including service on several editorial boards and numerous review committees for journals such as Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Journal of Pharmacy Sciences, The Internet Journal of Herbal and Plant Medicine, International Journal of Genuine Traditional Medicine, Advances in Pharmacological Sciences, Evidence Based Complementary Alternative Medicine and The Open Pain Journal. She has conducted 48 projects and 15 thesis in Gazi University. She has 189 published articles in SCI International Journals, 13 articles in National Journals and 10 chapters in International books.
Dariusz Jacek Jakóbczak was born in Koszalin, Poland, on December 30, 1965. He graduated in mathematics (numerical methods and programming) from the University of Gdansk, Poland in 1990. He received the Ph.D. degree in 2007 in computer science from the Polish – Japanese Institute of Information Technology, Warsaw, Poland. From 1991 to 1994 he was a civilian programmer in the High Military School in Koszalin. He was a teacher of mathematics and computer science in the Private Economic School in Koszalin from 1995 to 1999. Since March 1998 he has worked in the Department of Electronics and Computer Science, Koszalin University of Technology, Poland and since October 2007 he has been an Assistant Professor in the Chair of Computer Science and Management in this department. His research interests connect mathematics with computer science and include computer vision, artificial intelligence, shape representation, curve interpolation, contour reconstruction and geometric modeling, numerical methods, probabilistic methods, game theory, operational research and discrete mathematics.
