Huosheng Hu is a Professor in the School of Computer Science & Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex, and head of the Robotics and Mechatronics Group. He received the MSc degree in industrial automation from the Central South University in China and the PhD degree in robotics from the University of Oxford in the U.K. His research interests include behaviour-based robotics, human-robot interaction, service robots, embedded systems, data fusion, learning algorithms, mechatronics, and cloud computing. He has published over 500 papers in journals, books and conferences in these areas, and received a number of best paper awards. Prof. Hu is a Fellow of Institute of Engineering & Technology, a Fellow of Institute of Measurement & Control, and a founding member of IEEE Robotics & Automation Society Technical committee on Networked Robots. He has been a Program Chair or a member of Advisory/Organising Committee for many international conferences such as IEEE IROS, ICRA, ICMA, ROBIO conferences. He is currently Editor-in-Chief for International Journal of Automation and Computing, as well as Executive Editor for International Journal of Mechatronics & Automation.
Prof. Xiu-Tian YAN, (BEng, PhD, CEng, FIMechE, FIET, FHEA), is a Professor in Mechatronic Systems Technology, the Director of Space Mechatronic Systems Technology Laboratory (SMeSTech), Strathclyde Space Institute. He was the past Chairman of Robotics and Mechatronics TPN Executive Committee of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Vice-Chairman of Mechatronics Forum - the Vice Chairman of the Mechatronics Forum – an international mechatronics organisation established in 1992 and sponsored by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the UK. His research contributions include a mechatronic system design methodology through the development of a novel ‘design process model’ and associated computer support tools for mechatronic systems design. This model is then applied and validated in developing mechatronic and robotic solutions to challenging problems found in agriculture through award nominated collaborative and innovative AgriRover for autonamous soil sensing and selective harvesting, space through award winning SIROM robotic connector design and data fusion InFuse as builidng blocks for future European space missions, manufacturing with a SmartMan system for cake production and recently construction with a sustainable and autonomous factory blueprint for future innovative renovation of social housing from Indu-Zero project. He has published over 240 journal and conference papers and book chapters published in leading international journals and conferences in mechatronic system design and modelling, engineering system design, haptic system modelling, computer modelling and design support tools for mechatronic system development and applications of design process in several engineering disciplines, manufacturing and assembly, bio-structure modelling.
Prof. Simon X. Yang received the B.Sc. degree in engineering physics from Beijing University, China in 1987, the first of two M.Sc. degrees in biophysics from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China in 1990, the second M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Houston, USA in 1996, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada in 1999. Prof. Yang joined the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph, Canada in 1999. Currently he is a Professor and the Head of the Advanced Robotics & Intelligent Systems (ARIS) Laboratory at the University of Guelph in Canada. Prof. Yang has diversified research expertise. His research interests include intelligent systems, robotics, sensors and multi-sensor fusion, wireless sensor networks, control systems, and computational neuroscience. His significant research contributions can be reflected by his original and innovative work in biologically inspired intelligence with applications to real-time motion planning, tracking and control of various robotic systems, and various other engineering and biomedical systems. He has published about 450 referred papers, including over 250 journal papers (over 40 in IEEE Transactions). Prof. Yang he has been very active in professional activities. Prof. Yang serves as the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Robotics and Automation, and an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics and several other journals.
Prof. Yu-Dong Zhang received his PhD degree from Southeast University in 2010. He worked as a postdoc from 2010 to 2012 in Columbia University, USA, and as an assistant research scientist from 2012 to 2013 at Research Foundation of Mental Hygiene (RFMH), USA. He served as a full professor from 2013 to 2017 in Nanjing Normal University, where he was the director and founder of Advanced Medical Image Processing Group in NJNU. Now he serves as Professor in Department of Informatics, University of Leicester, UK. He was included in “Most Cited Chinese researchers (Computer Science)” by Elsevier from 2014 to 2018. He was the 2019 recipient of “Highly Cited Researcher” by Web of Science. He won “Emerald Citation of Excellence 2017” and “MDPI Top 10 Most Cited Papers 2015”. He was included in "Top Scientist" in Guide2Research. He published over 160 papers, including 16 “ESI Highly Cited Papers”, and 2 “ESI Hot Papers”. His citation reached 10232 in Google Scholar, and 5440 in Web of Science. He is the fellow of IET (FIET), and the senior members of IEEE and ACM. Nicolas H. Younan is a Department Head Emeritus and Professor Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University where he previously served as the Department Head and James Worth Bagley Chair from 2009 until 2019. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Mississippi State University, in 1982 and 1984, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Ohio University in 1988. Dr. Younan’s research interests include signal processing and pattern recognition with applications to smart technologies. He has been involved in the development of advanced signal processing and pattern recognition algorithms for data mining, data fusion, feature extraction and classification, and automatic target recognition/identification. Dr. Younan has published over 300 papers in journals and refereed conference proceedings. ShahramLatifi, an IEEE Fellow, received the Master of Science and the PhD degrees both in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, in 1986 and 1989, respectively. He is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering at UNLV. He has designed and taught courses and authored over 250 technical articles in the areas of networking, machine learning, cybersecurity, image processing, biometrics, fault tolerant computing, parallel processing, and data compression. His research has been funded by NSF, NASA, DOE, DoD, Boeing, Lockheed and Cray Inc. Dr. Latifi was an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Computers (1999-2006), an IEEE Distinguished Speaker (1997-2000), and founder and General Chair of the IEEE Int'l Conf. on Information Technology (2004-2019). He has delivered dozens of keynotes in various international conferences on Information Technology, Machine Learning and Cybersecurity. Dr. Ferial El-Hawary (M'82-S'86-F'99) received the B.Eng. degree from University of Alexandria, and the M. Sc. from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, in Electrical Engineering; and the Ph.D. in Oceans Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. Dr. El-Hawary is President of BH Engineering Systems Ltd. She served on the Faculty of Engineering at Dalhousie University, where she established and directed the Modeling & Signal Analysis Research Laboratory. Amir H. Gandomi is a Professor of Data Science at the Faculty of Engineering & Information Technology, University of Technology Sydney. Prior to joining UTS, Prof. Gandomi was an Assistant Professor at the School of Business, Stevens Institute of Technology, USA and a distinguished research fellow in BEACON center, Michigan State University, USA. Prof. Gandomi has published over one hundred and sixty journal papers and five books which collectively have been cited more than 13,000 times (H-index = 56). Luigi Fortuna was born in Siracuse (ITALY) in 1953. He received the degree of Electrical Engineering (cum laudae) from the University of Catania in 1977. He was researcher in Electronics up to 1987 when he became Associate Professor of Automatic Control. In that a period he was more time visiting researcher at the JET (Joint European Torus) in Abington (UK) where he worked in the design of control apparatus of the JET machine. From 1997 to 1998, he was at the Opto-Electronics & Systems Laboratories, ITRI. From 1998 to 2000, he was with the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics, DLR, Germany. From 2000 to 2008, he was with the Dept. Mechanical Engineering, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology. In 2008, he moved to the Dept. Mechatronic Engineering, National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan, where he is currently a professor.
Bibhya Sharma (Phd) is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of The South Pacific (USP). He also served as Associate Dean for Learning and Teaching within the Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment at USP since 2010- 2019. He is a member of a number of professional mathematics societies and unions and has published more than 100 articles and book chapters in the fields of mathematics education, robotics, biologically inspired processes and the TLPs of higher education. Radek Matusu was born in Zlín, Czech Republic, in 1978. He received the M.S. degree in automation and control technology in consumer goods industry from the Faculty of Technology, Tomas Bata University (TBU) in Zlín in 2002, and the Ph.D. degree in technical cybernetics from the Faculty of Applied Informatics (FAI), TBU in Zlín in 2007. He was appointed an Associate Professor of machine and process control at FAI TBU in Zlín in 2018. He has been holding various research or pedagogical positions at TBU in Zlín, since 2004, where he is currently a Researcher and a Project Manager. His research interests include analysis and synthesis of robust control systems, fractional-order systems, and algebraic methods in control design. He has (co-)authored more than 50 scientific journal papers and over 100 conference contributions. Assoc. Prof. Matušů serves as an Academic Editor of the Journal of Control Science and Engineering, and he was a Guest Editor of Mathematic Problems in Engineering. He has also served as a Reviewer for over 40 scientific journals, including but not limited to Automatica, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, and IEEE Control Systems Magazine.
Asst. Prof. Dr. EminTaner ELMAS, is a Dr. Dipl.-Ing. Mechanical Engineer, M.Sc., Ph.D., and he was born in 25/06/1974 in Sivas / Turkey. He has graduated from faculty of Mechanical Engineering as B.Sc. in 1995 and then completed his M.Sc. in “Energy” at Mechanical Engineering Department of DokuzEylül University in İzmir, Turkey and after that he received his Ph.D. in “Thermodynamics” at Mechanical Engineering Department of Ege University, in İzmir, Turkey. Asst.Prof. Dr. Elmas is an Assistant Professor of Automotive Technology at the Department of Motor Vehicles and Transportation Technologies at Vocational School of Higher Education for Technical Sciences at IGDIR UNIVERSITY , Turkey He has also served as an “Assistant Professor” and “Head of Department” of “Energy Systems Engineering” of “Faculty of Engineering And Natural Sciences” at Iskenderun Technical University (İSTE) in Turkey. He has also served as a Senate Member, Director of Energy Institute, Head of Department of Energy Systems Engineering,Chairman of Energy Systems EngineeringMajor Science Branch, Chairman of Institute Board, Member of Institute Board, Member of Faculty Council , at the same University.He also gave lectures at the Mechanical Engineering Department of Ege University and also gave lectures and conferences at other universities. He has worked in various industrial companies at different scope of supply, sectors, subjects and at different positions, e.g. Site Chief, Project Manager, Management Representative, Quality Manager, Factory Manager, Energy Manager, R&D Manager (CSO-Chief Science Officer , CTO-Chief Technology Officer), Business Development Manager (CBDO-Chief Business Development Officer), Deputy General Manager and General Manager. He has also been serving as a Peer Reviewer and member of SCIEI- Science And Engineering Institute. Asst. Prof. Dr. ELMAS has served as a Peer Reviewer for NPP- NASA Postdoctoral Program (National Aeronautics and Space Administration, USA) and USRA (Universities Space Research Association, USA). He has also served as a Peer Reviewer for some NASA EPSCoR andNASA EPSCoR ISS Proposal projects. He has also made peer reviews for various articles / publications / papers for some universities and journals. Asst. Prof. Dr. ELMAS has also been serving as a Peer Reviewer and member for the Education Committee of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) IGTI - International Gas Turbine Institute. In addition, he is serving as an Editor and also an Editorial Board Member of some journals. He is also a member of American Energy Society (AES). Asst. Prof. Dr. ELMAS has completed his military service as a NATO Officer in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was a “Reserved Officer” as a “2nd Lieutenant” as an “English-Turkish Interpreter”. He has served in Sarejevo, Camp Butmir within the SFOR task force of NATO. Dr. Seifedine Kadry has a Bachelor degree in 1999 from Lebanese University, MS degree in 2002 from Reims University (France) and EPFL (Lausanne), PhD in 2007 from Blaise Pascal University (France), HDR degree in 2017 from Rouen University (France). At present his research focuses on Data Science, education using technology, Robotics, system prognostics, stochastic systems, and probability and reliability analysis. He is an ABET program evaluator for computing, and ABET program evaluator for Engineering Tech.
Prof. Manu Pratap Singh received his Ph.D. from Kumaun University Nainital, Uthrakhand, India, in 2001. He completed his Master of Science in Computer Science from Allahabad University, Allahabad in 1995.He is currently working asProfessor in Department of Computer Science, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra, UP, India since 2014. He is engaged in teaching and research since last 20 years. He has more than 90 research papers in journals of international and national repute. His work has been recognized widely around the world in the form of citations of his research papers. He also has received the Young Scientist Award in computer science by international Academy of Physical sciences, Allahabad in year 2005. He has guided 18 students for their doctorate in computer science. He is also referee of various international and national journals like International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge Based Systems published by World scientific publishing cooperation Ltd, International Journal of Engineering, Iran, IEEE Transaction of fuzzy systems and European journal of operation research published by Elsevier. He has developed a feed forward neural networks simulator for hand written character recognition of English alphabets. He has also developed a hybrid evolutionary algorithm for hand written character recognition of English as well as for Hindi language classification. In his hybrid approach the Genetic algorithm is incorporated with back propagation learning rule to train the feed forward neural networks. In this approach the genetic algorithm starts from the suboptimal solution and converges for the optimal solutions. This approach leads for the multi objective optimization phenomena. Another hybrid approach of evolutionary algorithm has been developed for the feedback neural network of Hopfield type for efficient recalling for the memorized patterns. Here also the randomness from the genetic algorithm is minimized by starting it from the suboptimal solution in the term of parent weight matrix for the global optimal solutions i.e. correct weight matrices for the network to consider it for efficient pattern recalling. His research interests are focused on Neural networks, pattern recognition and machine intelligence, soft-computing, quantum computing etc. He is a member of technical committee of IASTED, Canada since 2004. He is also the regular member of machine intelligence Research Labs (MIR Labs), scientific network for innovation and research excellence (SNIRE), Auburn, Washington, USE, http://www.mirlabs.org, since 2012.His Google citation indices are h-14, i10-index is 16 and he has 434 citations. He has been invited as keynote speaker and invited guest speaker in various institutions in India and Abroad.
Dr. N. Nalini is a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore. She received her MS from BITS, Pilani in 1999 and PhD from Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2007. She has more than 23 years of teaching and 16 years of research experience. She has numerous international journal and conference publications to her credit, and received “Bharath Jyoti Award” by India International Friendship Society, New Delhi on 2012, from Dr. Bhishma Narain Singh, former Governor of Tamilnadu and Assam. She received the “Dr.Abdul Kalam Life Time Achievement National Award “for excellence in Teaching, Research Publications, and Administration by International Institute for Social and Economic Reforms, IISER, Bangalore on 29 th Dec 2014. She is also the recipient of “Distinguished Professor” award by TechNext India 2017 in association with Computer Society of India-CSI , Mumbai Chapter and “Best Professor in Computer Science &Engineering “ award by 26 th Business School Affaire Dewang Mehta National Education Awards ( Regional Round) on 5 th September 2018, at Bangalore She is a lifetime member of the ISTE, CSI, ACEEE and IIFS. Elected Unanimously as Vice Chairman cum Chairman Elect-Computer Society of India-Bangalore Chapter for the Years (2019-2021). Dr. Yousef FARHAOUI is Professor at Moulay Ismail University, Faculty of Sciences and Techniques, Morocco. Local Publishing and Research Coordinator, Cambridge International Academics in United Kingdom. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Computer Security from Ibn Zohr University of Science. His research interests include learning, e-learning, computer security, big data analytics, and business intelligence. Farhaoui has three books in computer science. YUNG-YAO CHEN received the B.S. and M.S.degrees in electrical and control engineering fromNational Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 2004 and2006, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University, WestLafayette, IN, USA, in 2013. He has workedin HP Labs–Printing and Content Delivery Lab(HPL–PCDL) as a Full-Time Research Intern from 2012 to 2013. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Dept. Electronic and Computer Engineering, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan.His current research interests include computer vision,vision-based automation, pattern recognition, color image processing, imaging systems, machine learning, and human–computer interaction.Dr. Chen is a member of Golden Key International Honor Society and PhiTau Phi. He was a recipient of the First Prize Paper Award of the 2015 International conference on Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Systems, the BestPaper Award of the 2018 International Conference on Communications,Computation, Network and Technologies, and the Outstanding ReviewerAward of 2018 IEEE International Conference on Visual Communicationsand Image Processing.
