Richard R. Schrock received his Ph. D. degree in inorganic chemistry from Harvard University in 1971. After spending one year as an NSF postdoctoral fellow at Cambridge University and three years at the Central Research and Development Department of E. I. DuPont de Nemours and Company in Wilmington Delaware, he joined the faculty at MIT in 1975. He became full professor in 1980 and the Frederick G. Keyes Professor of Chemistry in 1989; he is now Emeritus at MIT, the Distinguished Professor and George K. Helmkamp Founders Chair of Chemistry at the University of California, Riverside, and Professor Conventionne at ISIS at the University of Strasbourg. His current interests include the inorganic and organ metallic chemistry of early transition metal complexes, especially alkylidene complexes and olefin metathesis reactions. He has received numerous awards and medals, the most prominent of which is the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2005, which he shared with R. H. Grubbs and Y. Chauvin. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, and is a Foreign Member of the Royal Society (London). He has supervised over 200 PhD students and postdocs.

Shaobin Wang obtained B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Peking University (China) and Ph.D from the University of Queensland (Australia). He was a John Curtin Distinguished Professor at Curtin University and is a professor at the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials, University of Adelaide. His research interests focus on synthesis and application of nanomaterials, carbon dioxide utilization, energy conversion, and environmental remediation. He is a Highly Cited Researcher in Engineering for 2016-2019 and in Engineering & Chemistry for 2020. He was recognized as Australian Lifetime Achievers Leaderboard-Top 40 Research Superstars by The Australian newspaper.

Professor Yusuke Yamauchi received his Bachelor degree (2003), Master degree (2004), and Ph.D. (2007) from the Waseda University, Japan. After receiving his Ph.D., he joined the National Institute of Materials Science (NIMS), Japan to start his own research group. He led a big team of senior scientists, technical staffs, and more than 30 PhD students/Postdocs. After getting the ARC Future Fellow, in May 2017 he joined the University of Wollongong as a full professor. Currently, he is a senior group leader at AIBN at University of Queensland and a professor in the School of Chemical Engineering. He concurrently serves as an honorary group leader of NIMS, a visiting/honorary professor at several universities (University of Wollongong, Tianjin University, King Saud University, and Waseda University), and an associate editor of Journal of Materials Chemistry A published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). He has published more than 550 papers in international refereed journals with > 20,000 citations (h-index > 75). He is selected as one of the Highly-Cited Researchers in Chemistry in 2016 and 2017. He has received many outstanding awards, such as the NISTEP Award by National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (2016), the Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ) Award for Young Chemists (2014), the Young Scientists Prize of the Commendation for Science and Technology by MEXT (2013), the PCCP Prize by the Royal Society of Chemistry (2013), the Tsukuba Encouragement Prize (2012), the Ceramic Society of Japan (CerSJ) Award (2010), and the Inoue Research Award for Young Scientists (2010).

Djamaladdin (Jamal)Musaev received his B.A. degree from Azerbaijan State University, Azerbaijan, and PhD degree from USSR Academy of Sciences (Moscow).He worked as a Research Fellow and then as a Sr. Research Fellow at the Institute for New Chemical Problems of USSR Academy of Sciences (Chernogolovka, Moscow region). In 1991, Jamal was awarded by JSPS junior fellowship and worked at Institute for Molecular Sciences, Okazaki, Japan (1991-1993) under guidance of Prof. KeijiMorokuma. In 1993, Dr. Musaev moved to the Emory University, Atlanta, USA. Dr. Musaev is a Director of the Emerson Center for Scientific Computation, and Adjunct Professor of Chemistry. Musaev is co-founder of the Emory BioInspired Energy Center, the CCI-NSF Center for Stereoselective C-H Functionalization, and founder of the Emerson Center Lectureship Award promoting multi-disciplinarity in modern science and technology. Musaev s scientific interest includes: (a) Designing of predictive rules for development of new and more effective Stereo selective C-H bond functionalization strategies; (b) Designing solar energy-driven robust multi-electron-transfer catalysts for water splitting and fuel formation;(c) Understanding of fundamental principles of transition metal catalyst (including nano-scale catalysts) and photo catalyst promoted nitrogen fixation, hydrocarbon oxidation and borylation, olefin polymerization; (d) Elucidating mechanisms of enzymatic processes, and (e) Development of hybrid computational methods to study interfacial charge transfer dynamics. Among Jamal s multiple awards are JSPS Sr. Fellowship (Japan), Tubitak Award (Turkey), and multiple visiting professorships in Spain, Germany and Japan. Jamal has published more than 350 papers in peer-review journals, two books, and have presented more than 320 invited talks in 21 countries.

Dr. Hong Yang is the Richard C. Alkire Chair Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He received his B.Sc. degree from Tsinghua University, and Ph.D. degree from University of Toronto. He did his postdoctoral research at Harvard University as an NSERC Canada Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Yang is an elected Fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a NSERC Canada Doctoral Prize recipient and a National Science Foundation CAREER Award winner. He is an Associate Editor for Science Advances, a Section Editor on Nanotechnology for Current Opinion in Chemical Engineering, and the Subject Editor on Electrochemical Energy Conversion for Frontiers in Energy. He also serves on several editorial boards, such as Nano Today and ChemNanoMat. His research interests include synthesis of nanostructures, electro catalysis, catalysis, and nanomaterials for energy and sustainability applications.

Richard J. Spontak was a research scientist with Procter & Gamble before he joined the NCSU faculty in 1992. Spontak has over 104 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and his work has been featured on the cover of Microsc. Res. Tech. and Langmuir. Spontak conducts studies to improve the current understanding of microstructural polymer systems, which are of scientific interest as self-assembling polymers and commercial value as adhesives, (bio)compatibilizing agents, nanotemplates, and membranes. His group s efforts are at the cutting edge of block copolymer research: e.g., they have obtained the first 3D images of the bicontinuous gyroid (Ia3d) and sponge (L3) morphologies. They characterize polymers with electronspectroscopic microscopy, and dispersions/gels with freeze-fracture replication and cryo-TEM techniques. Use of these tools has expedited the study of block copolymers and their blends/gels, and has helped to elucidate novel polymer gelation mechanisms, PDLC composition/morphology relationships, and interpolymer complexation. Other areas of interest include polymer alloying through mechanical attrition, transmission electron microtemography, and modification of polymer solutions via salting-in.

Dr. Chunshan Song is Wei Lun Professor of Chemistry and Dean of Science at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Distinguished Professor Emeritus in Fuel Science and Chemical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University in the US since July 2020. He received BS in chemical engineering in 1982 from Dalian University of Technology in China, MS and PhD in applied chemistry from Osaka University in Japan in 1986 and 1989, respectively. After a brief stint as Research Associate in 1989 at Research Centre of Osaka Gas Company in Japan, he joined the Fuel Science Program at the Pennsylvania State University at University Park. Starting as Research Associate at Penn State, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 1994, Associate Professor in 1998, tenured Full Professor of Fuel Science in 2003, Professor of Chemical Engineering in 2008, and Distinguished University Professor in 2010. He served as the Director of the Energy Institute at Penn State during 2007-2020, founding Director of Joint Centre for Energy Research established between Penn State and Dalian University of Technology during 2011-2020 and the founding Director of University Coalition for Fossil Energy Research consisting of 15 major research universities funded by the US DOE National Energy Technology Laboratory during 2015-2020. He has advised or co-advised 80 PhD and MS students and 30 undergraduate students, supervised 35 postdoctoral scholars and 40 visiting scholars. His research interests focus on chemistry and catalysis for energy and fuels including selective separation (of CO2, H2S, SO2, NO2, NH3, organic sulphur and nitrogen), catalytic CO2 conversion to chemicals and fuels; adsorptive, oxidative and catalytic processing of fuels; plasma catalysis for small molecules (CO2, H2, SO2, CH4, etc.); shape-selective catalysis; energy conversion; synthesis and application of Nano-porous materials. He has authored co-authored 430 refereed papers in research journals (with 35,500 science citations and H-index of 88 in Google Scholar, Oct 2021), 8 patents, and 15 edited books. He is a Fellow of the American Chemical Society (ACS), and has been recognized with many awards such as the ACS George A. Olah Award, ACS Henry H. Hiroaki Sasai received his Ph.D. degree from Keio University in 1985. After working as a researcher at Sagami Chemical Research Centre for three years, he joined Prof. Shibasaki’s group at Hokkaido University as an assistant professor. In 1992, he moved to the University of Tokyo (lecturer and then associate professor), and in 1997 he was appointed as a full professor of the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (Sanken), Osaka University. He is a recipient of 1995 Pharmaceutical Society of Japan Award for Young Scientists and the Fluka Prize "Reagent of the Year 1996". He received The Chemical Society of Japan Award for Creative Work and Ichimura Science Award in 2006, the Molecular Chirality Award in 2011, and Synthetic Organic Chemistry Award in 2016.In 2018 he received Prizes for Science and Technology from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan.

The research work on photocatalysis by Professor Ohtani started in 1981 when he was a Ph. D. course student in Kyoto University. Since then he has been studying photocatalysis and related topics for more than 30 years and published more than 300 original papers (h-index: 70) and two single-author books. After gaining his Ph. D. degree from Kyoto University in 1985, he became an assistant professor in the university. In 1996, he was promoted to an associate professor in Division of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Hokkaido University and was then awarded a full professor position in the Catalysis Research Center (presently Institute for Catalysis), Hokkaido University in 1998. For the education of graduate students, Professor Ohtani s laboratory has belonged to the Graduate School of Environmental Science, Hokkaido University since 1999. He was awarded 2005 Scientific Achievement Award of The Electrochemical Society of Japan, The Japanese Photochemistry Association Award 2006, Catalysis Society of Japan Award for 2013, The Japanese Photochemistry Association Lectureship Award (2017)and The Award of The Electrochemical Society of Japan (Takei Award), 2018.

Prof Gani is currently an adjunct professor at KAIST (South Korea) and CEO of PSE for SPEED, a company he co-founded in 2018.For 34 years, starting from 1985, Prof Gani worked at the Department of Chemical & Biochemical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, where he co-founded CAPEC. Prof Gani served as an editor-in-chief of Computers and Chemical Engineering journal (2009-2015) and currently serves as editor for the Sustainable Production & Consumption journal. He is also a member of the editorial advisory boards of several international journals, including Computers and Chemical Engineeringand Current Opinion in Chemical Engineering. Prof Gani has been awarded Doctor Honoris Causa degrees from University Politehnica Bucharest, University of Pannonia, Babes-Bolyai University and University of Maribor. Prof. Xin Wang received his Bachelor s (1994) and Master s (1997) degrees in Chemical Engineering from Zhejiang University, and Ph. D (2002) in Chemical Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. From 2003 to 2005, he worked as a research fellow at University of California, Riverside, and concurrently, as R&D director for a startup fuel cell company. He joined Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singaporeas an assistant professor in 2005 and was promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2010 and full professor in 2016. He served in various roles in NTU, such as Director of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Associate Dean (Research) at College of Engineering. Jimmy C. Yu is Choh-Ming Li Professor of Chemistry and Head of United College at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Professor Yu has been a highly cited researcher for many years. Professor Richard A. Gross is Full Professor and a Constellation Chaired Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). His research combines mild enzyme and green chemical pathways to develop next-generation biobased chemicals and materials. Current research targets include: enzyme catalysts for polymer recycling/modification,engineering bacterial cellulose thickness/porosity for advanced material applications, Biocomposites, protease-catalyzed routes to polypeptides, bioresorbable hydrogels for regenerative medicine and microbial surfactants. He has about 600 publications in peer reviewed journals, been cited about 28,000 times (h-index 85, i10-index 392); edited 8-books and has 26 patents (granted or filed). He was the recipient of the 2003 Presidential Green Chemistry Award in the academic category. In 2010 he was the Turner Alfrey Visiting Professor and in 2014 he became a Fellow of the ACS Polymer Division. Dr. Dimitris S. Argyropoulos is a Professor and Finland Distinguished Professor of Chemistry. The work of his group focuses on the organic chemistry of wood components and the development of new chemistry for transforming the carbon present in our trees toward producing valuable chemicals, materials and energy. Dr. Argyropoulos received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from McGill University in Montreal, Canada where he also served as a PAPRICAN professor with the Chemistry department. His teaching is primarily related to wood chemistry, biomaterial characterization, carbohydrate, lignin and polymer chemistry. Dr. Argyropoulos is a Fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Chemistry. In addition to being a member to a number of professional societies (ACS, TAPPI, PAPTAC), Dr. Argyropoulos serves the editorial boards of five scientific journals as well the board of the International Lignin Institute and a number of International Scientific committees. He has also served as the Division Chair, and Secretary of the Cellulose and Renewable Materials of the American Chemical Society. Recent research in his group emerges from a significant finding that wood can be dissolved in Ionic Liquids, allowing for the creation of a variety of novel processing platforms for producing new materials, chemicals and energy. In addition, his group develops new methods based on organic chemistry, NMR spectroscopy and catalysis to modulate, direct and understand the transformations of wood biopolymers during industrial transformations such pulping, bleaching and bio-processing.

Dr Qiao joined the School of Chemical Engineering of the University of Adelaide (UoA) in March 2012 as a professor (the inaugural Chair of Nanotechnology). He is the founding Director of Centre for Materials in Energy and Catalysis (CMEC). Norito Takenaka received a B.A./M.A. degree from Boston University in 1996, where he worked in the laboratory of Professor James S. Panek. After receving a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2002 under the guidance of Professor Viresh H. Rawal, he spent two and half years as a postdoctoral fellow with Professor Hisashi Yamamoto at the same institution. He began his independent career at the University of Miami in 2005 and then moved to Florida Institute of Technology in 2014. His research program is focused on asymmetric organocatalysis and organic synthesis.

In Su Lee received his PhD (2000) from Seoul National University under the supervision of Professor Young Keun Chung. After the work as a senior researcher at LG chemical (2000-2003), the post-doctoral research with Jeffrey Long at UC Berkeley (2003-2005), and the research with Taeghawn Hyeon for Creative Research Initiative Center for Oxide Nanocrystalline Materials at Seoul National University (2005-2006), he worked at KyungHee University as an assistant and associate professor (2006-2011). After this, he moved to POSTECH and joined the Department of Chemistry. He is now a professor of Chemistry at POSTECH and also director of Creative Research Initiative Center for Nanospace-Confined Chemical Reactions (NCCR). His current research is focused on studying the spatially confined reactions that occurs within nanosized solid-state or solution-phase media and developing nanomaterials for the applications in catalysis and biomedical fields.

Dr. Aman Ullah received his PhD (with distinction) in Chemical Sciences and Technologies in 2010 at the University of Genova, Italy by working together at Southern Methodist University, USA. He worked at different research institutes in Asia/Europe/US before accepting an Assistant Professor position at the University of Alberta. He is currently an Associate Professor and leads a research group on the Utilization of Lipids-Polymers/Materials Chemistry at University of Alberta, Canada. He has developed and has been teaching a graduate course entitled Renewable Biomaterials. Aman has more than 86 publications with 5 patents/patent applications and has incorporated a new spinoff biorefinery. His research is focused on the development of biochemicals, biopolymers/biomaterials from renewable biomass. He has participated and presented his work in more than 100 National and international scientific meetings and conferences, including several invited, keynote and plenary lectures at conferences and research centres in Asia, Europe, and America. In addition, he has received several awards including Canadian Rising Star award by Grand Challenges Canada, ALES Research and Innovation Award, and ASTech Award Finalist for the 30th ASTech Innovation Awards.

Dr Salvador Eslava is a Senior Lecturer (Assoc. Prof.) in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London since November 2019. He joined Imperial after five years as a Lecturer (Asst. Prof.) at University of Bath. He currently holds an EPSRC Early Career Fellowship on Interface Engineering for Solar Hydrogen and was recently awarded the Warner prize from the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). Before Bath, he was a research associate in the Materials Department at Imperial College London (2011-2014) working with Prof. E. Saiz on graphene and MOFs and in the Chemistry Department at The University of Cambridge (2009-2011), working with Professors Dominic Wright and Richard Lambert on titanium clusters. He defended his PhD degree in 2009 conducted in the Centre for Surface Chemistry and Catalysis (COK) at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and IMEC, Belgium, in the group of Prof. Johan Martens working on zeolitic dielectrics. He holds a Taught Master in Materials Science from UniversitadegliStudi di Pavia, Italy, and an MEng in Chemical Engineering from Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. He has published more than 60 articles and received funding from EPSRC and The Royal Society.

Jiayin Yuan received a Bachelor degree from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), a master degree from Universität Siegen (Germany), and a PhD degree from Universität Bayreuth (Germany) in 2009. Then he joined the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces (Germany) as a research group leader and completed his Habilitation in 2015. After a one-year associate professor appointment at Clarkson University, USA in 2017, he moved to Stockholm University (Sweden) and is a full professor since 2019. He received the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant in 2014 and a Wallenberg Academy Fellowship from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation in 2017. His research focuses on functional polymers and carbons for environment and energy applications.

Dr. Afriat-jurnou leads the group of Enzyme Evolution in MIGAL-Galilee Research Institute, and teaches at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology in Tel-Hai College, Israel, since 2017. She pursued her PhD studies at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, under the guidance of Prof. Dan S. Tawfik (RIP), studying the molecular mechanisms involved in enzyme evolution. After that, she continued in the field during her postdoctoral studies at the Australian National University, Canberra, with Prof. Colin Jackson. In her work, she uses directed enzyme evolution and protein engineering towards the understanding of the mechanisms involved in enzyme evolution, and design enzyme for various agriculture and environmental applications.

Professor Stanislaw Dzwigaj received his PhD degree in 1982 in Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry, Krakow (Poland). After two years of postdoctoral stay at the Laboratoire de Reactivite de Surface Universite P. et M. Curie (Paris) he obtained in 1990 a position of contracted researcher in the same Laboratory devoted to surface reactivity in relation to catalysis phenomena. Then, in 2008 he obtained permanent position in CNRS as a researcher. On February 19, 2014 for outstanding scientific achievements he received the title of professor. His published work includes more than 170 papers published in reputable international journals.

A/Prof Akshat Tanksale completed his PhD at The University of Queensland in 2008 examining nanomaterials / chemical reaction engineering. This was followed by a postdoctoral position at UQ examining the conversion of CO2, syngas and biomass into liquid fuels and chemicals and hydrogen storage. Joining Monash University in 2011, A/Prof Tanksale leads the Catalysis for Green Chemicals group where his interest is in the field of heterogeneous catalysis for conversion of biomass to fuels and chemicals, hydrogen production, solvent phase formaldehyde production and one-step syngas to diesel range fuel production using nanomaterials catalyst. Professor Sivakumar Manickam is a Chemical Engineer specializing Process Engineering of Nanomaterials especially Nanopharmaceuticals. He is working in the area of Ultrasound and Hydrodynamic Cavitation since 1997. He has graduated from UDCT, Mumbai, India. Presently he is working with University of Nottingham, Malaysia campus and his research group concentrates on the process development of cavitation based reactors towards technologically important nanomaterials. He is also heading the Manufacturing and Industrial Processes Research Division and is the Coordinator of the Centre for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (CENTAM). He was also the recipient of the prestigious JSPS fellowship from the Goernment of Japan. He has published ~150 peer reviewed journal and conference papers. Minhua Shao is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at HKUST. He is also the Director of the HKUST Collaborative Innovation Center, Associate Director of the HKUST Energy Institute, and Director of the Sustainable Energy Engineering Program. He earned BS and MS degrees in chemistry from Xiamen University, and a PhD degree in materials science and engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2006. Dr. Shao joined UTC Power in 2007 to lead the development of advanced catalysts fuel cells. He was promoted to UTC Technical Fellow in 2012. Martin Reli is one of leading researchers at the Institute of Environmental Technology at the Technical University of Ostrava in Czech Republic. Where he finished his PhD studies in 2013, and continues his work in the field of photo-catalysis to this day. His main focus is on photo-catalytic reduction of carbon dioxide and photocatalytic hydrogen generation from methanol/water solution. In recent years, he also begun to work in the field of advanced oxidation processes in the pilot plant scale. Specifically, the elimination of volatile organic compounds from waste air at higher flow rates. Radenka Maric is vice president for research, innovation and entrepreneurship, and a Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor at the University of Connecticut, where she oversees the university's $375 million research enterprise at the main campus in Storrs, the UConn Health campus in Farmington, the School of Law in Hartford, and four regional campuses around the state. Previously, Dr. Maric served as the inaugural executive director of UConn's $132 million Innovation Partnership Building, which houses state-of-art specialized equipment and research center's of excellence and serves as a nexus for industry academic partnerships. Gang Xu is the R&D Principal Technologist for AVEVA and is now the leading thermodynamics engineer for Product development, especially for AVEVA Process Simulation, AVEVA Dynamic Simulation. His contribution in high performance computation in multi-phase equilibrium had been highly appreciated by AVEVA customers worldwide. Gang holds several patents granted by US in thermodynamic applications. Gang received his Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA in 2000. His undergraduate degree was from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1995.

Dr Dmitry B. Lukyanov is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath. He graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1978 and obtained his PhD in Chemical Kinetics and Catalysis at the Karpov Institute of Physical Chemistry in 1986. He worked in this institute as a Junior and afterwards as a Senior Researcher before moving to the University of Manchester (1992) as a Senior Research Fellow and then to the University of Bath (2000). For about 40 years his research was focused on experimental and kinetic modelling studies of various reactions over zeolite catalysts. He has about 60 relevant publications in peer-reviewed scientific with more than 1000 citations. Currently, his research is focused on the development of transient kinetic models for a number of industrially important reactions over zeolite catalysts.

Yuping is currently a Hong Kong Jockey Club-Oxford D.Phil. Scholar in the Department of Engineering Science at Oxford University. His research has been specialized in exploring high-quality photo-alignment and high-resolution spatial patterning of conjugated polymers and molecular semiconductors for polarized light emission and quantum coherent engineering.

Dr. Janusz Koziński has enjoyed a distinguished academic career in leading institutions in the USA, Europe, and Canada. He is an internationally-renowned higher education leader, researcher and entrepreneur, and one of the world’s most widely acknowledged experts in sustainable energy systems. Educated in Kraków, Poland, he subsequently conducted research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and spent much of his academic career at McGill University where he was Associate Vice-Principal for Research & International Relations. He was Founding Dean of the Lassonde School of Engineering in Toronto and Founding President of a new University in Hereford, which is one of the most ambitious ventures in British higher education. I obtained my PhD in 2010 at University of Strasbourg and since 2012 I am associate professor at INSA Lyon. My research activity is dedicated to the development of electron microscopy and tomography techniques applied to the characterization of different types of functional materials: catalysts, catalyst supports, polymers and biological materials. The goal is to follow and understand the relationships between the structure and the properties of these materials. To do this, electron tomography and in situ monitoring of materials, under gas and at high temperature, are essential approaches.

Prof. Dr. Ulf-Peter Apfel, Head of Department Electro synthesis at Fraunhofer UMSICHT and Professor for Inorganic Chemistry at Ruhr University Bochum. Ulf received his PhD from the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena. After a postdoctoral stay at MIT (2011/2012), he started his independent career at the Ruhr University Bochum funded by the ‘‘Fonds der Chemischen Industrie’’ and the DFG as an Emmy Noether group leader. He holds a professorship at the Ruhr University Bochum since 2019 and is leading the department Electro synthesis at Fraunhofer UMSICHT. Currently Research Engineer at Ecole Polytechnique at Laboratory of Physics and Interfaces of Thin Films (LPICM) in Paris.In 2011 I obtained my PhD degree in Condensed Matter Physics from University of Strasbourg for my research conducted at Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Materials in Strasbourg (IPCMS) under the guidance of Prof. Ovidiu Ersen dedicated to the implementation of electron tomography at nanometer scale. In March 2013 I joined the Nano MaDe team at LPICM as TEM specialist where I’m in charge of the prototype ETEM microscope related to the Nano Max project part of the TEMPOS Equip ex. My role is to participate at the development and the design of CVD sources compatibles with the TEM column allowing bringing the matter on the sample as beams, while maintaining a high vacuum (a guarantee for a better controlled growth). These beams can be either gaseous molecules or gaseous radicals. Equipped with latest generation accessories in order to control the sample environment, gas pressure, and image recording, the tool will help understanding and controlling in situ the growth of Nano-objects as well as their structuring at atomic scale.

Youcef SERHANE, State Engineer in Chemical Engineering (physical chemistry of materials). URICIUC is currently assistant professor at the Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj Napoca, member of the Oral Rehabilitation Department in the Faculty of Dental Medicine. He is specialist in dental laboratory technology with a Master's degree in Micro and Nano technologies at the Technical University of Cluj Napoca, Faculty of Materials and Environmental Science and Engineering. The PhD. research in the field of Materials Engineering completed the experience in the field of dental materials processing technology, creating a bridge between technique and medicine, forming the basis of the theoretical and practical courses that Willi is invited to give at National and International Congresses. With a professional, didactic and research activity of almost 20 years in the field of Oral Rehabilitation, the last period of time was dedicated to the research of metallic dental materials, their processing methods and the conditioning of the exposed material surfaces in the oral cavity.

Jaebeom Lee (JLEE), received his PhD (2003) from Robert Gordon University, Scotland, is full professor at Department of Chemistry, and adjunct professor in BK21 department of Chemical Engineering, CNU. Before he joined this university, since 2007, he has initiated a research group at College of Nanoscience and Engineering, Pusan National University. He is expertized at synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles, in particular, magnetic and magnetoplasmonic particles for artificial enzymes. +190 SCI papers including Science, Nature Materials, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, JACS, Angew. Chem., and Science Advances, and +80 international/internal patents have been published and +10 patents are tech-transferred to companies. (h-index +41, total citation +9292, google citation). Recently, he received an Outstanding Research Faculty Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology (2017). Currently, +14 research fellows and students are focusing on development of photoelectrochemical catalysts for hydrogen generation in his group.

Victor M. Kogan graduated from Oil and Gas University and since 1979 he serves for the Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of sciences as a researcher. Here he accomplished his PhD Thesis in Chemistry (Catalysis) and D. Sc. Thesis (Habilitation). From 2009 he heads the Institute Laboratory of Catalysis by Transition Metals and their Compounds. The catalysts for oil refinery and synthesis gas conversion over transition metal sulfides for alcohol production are in the focus of his studies. Some fundamentals in the field of catalysis by transition metal sulfides has been obtained and commercially used. His research interests include studies of mechanisms of catalytic reactions, such as hydro desulfurization of oil crudes and fractions, Fischer-Tropsch and alcohol synthesis over p- and d-metals and their sulfides; development of new types of catalysts for hydro treating, hydrogenation and isomerization. Awarded by A. A. Balandin Prize (2019) of Russian Academy of sciences.

Grzegorz Gruzel completed his PhD studies in physics at the Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences in 2019. He is currently employed as a researcher in University of Rzeszow, Poland. His researches mainly focus on nanoparticles synthesis, especially the shape-controlled synthesis of novel, nano frames-based nano catalysts for anode and cathode of the alcohol fuel cells. In his work, he combines experimental work with theoretical DFT calculation. His main research tool is the transmission electron microscope which allows to study the morphology, structure and chemical composition of obtained nanoparticles.

Stefan Vajda is currently the head of the recently established Department of Nanocatalysis of the J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Science located in Prague. He is also the ERA Chair holder at the Institute. Stefan pioneered the studies of atomically precise size- and composition selected subnanometer size cluster-based catalyst under realistic reaction conditions of temperature and pressure in industrially relevant processes. Stefan received his Diploma (MSc) degree in Physical Chemistry and his PhD in Chemistry from Charles University in Prague, and habilitated from Experimental Physics at the Freie Universitat Berlin. His awards include a Fulbright Fellowship spent at the University of Chicago. Before returning to Prague in 2019, Stefan was active at the Freie Universitat Berlin and Argonne National Laboratory US. During his career, Stefan published over 120 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, has 7 issued US patents and presented over 80 invited talks at international conferences.

Dr. Qiying Liu was born in 1975. He obtained the Master degree in Chemical Engineering at Nanjing Tech University from 2000 to 2003 and the title of Ph.D.in physical chemistry at Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS from 2004 to 2009. Since 2009, he join as a researcher in Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, CAS, surviving the assistant professor, associate professor and professor. His research activities contain lignocellulosic biomass catalytic biorefinery to value added fuels and chemicals, and pilot demonstration investigation for biomass derived hydrocarbon fuels production. He has published more than 150 peer reviewed papers with a total 2500 citations, more than 30 communications at conferences and 25 innovation patents with 10 authorization. He undertook more than 20 government and company sponsored projects and obtained 4 awards including the first prize of natural science of Guangdong province, the first prize of technology innovation of Guangdong province, the gold medal for Guangdong invention patent and the Bluesky award (global top ten investment scenarios to Applied New Technologies for Renewable Energy Utilization) issued by United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

Hiroe Kubota is a PhD student in Hokkaido University, Japan and short visitor in Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland. She is currently employed as a researcher in the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Her main research tool is in situ/operando spectroscopies and DFT calculation to elucidate reaction mechanism over deNOx catalyst.

Hao Wu received obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2019. After a short visit at Tokyo Institute of Technology, he is now a Research Fellow (Energy Stream Leader of CAREnergy Laboratory) in the School of Energy and Environment, City University of Hong Kong. His research interests are on the design of semiconductors for photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical applications. He has authored (as the first/corresponding author) publications in highly-ranked international peer-reviewed journals, including Angewandte Chemie, Advanced Materials, ACS Energy Letters, Advanced Functional Materials, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Solar RRL, etc. He is currently acting as the Academic Editor of the Journal of Energy (Wiley), and the Reviewer Editor of Frontiers in Chemistry (IF: 5.221).

Dr. Maayan Gal is a faculty member in the Sackler Faculty of Medicine in Tel Aviv University, Israel. He completed his PhD studies at the Chemical Physics Department in the Weizmann Institute, focused on the development of new magnetic resonance methods for monitoring bimolecular events. He then continued as an HFSP postdoctoral fellow to Harvard Medical School working on protein interactions. He then joined as a leading researcher to Migal-Galilee research institute where he developed small molecule inhibitors for therapeutic and agricultural Uses and established a new biotech startup company. The lab in TAU was established on Oct-2019 and is focused on the discovery and development of novel protein modulator and protein Engineering.

Dr. Jufan Zhang is the Assistant Professor/Lecturer at Centre of Micro/Nano Manufacturing Technology, University College Dublin, Ireland. He mainly focuses on the research of micro/nano manufacturing, micro/nano functional surface textures,design and fabrication of advanced optical systems, quantum chemistry simulation. By now, he has over 40 publications and 6 patents. He was awarded several major funding as the PI. He is the reviewer of several international academic journals.

Dr. Prasenjit Ghosh is a Professor of Chemistry at IIT Bombay. He received his PhD from Columbia University, New York, in 1998. Following two post-doctoral stints at Brookhaven National Laboratory, and at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he joined IIT Bombay in 2003. He received the CRSI Bronze Medal (2014) of the Chemical Research Society of India and The Distinguished Lectureship Award (2011) of the Chemical Society of Japan. He served in the Editorial Advisory Boards of Organometallics (2017-2019) and of Polyhedron since 2011. His interests are in the domains of organometallic chemistry in homogeneous catalysis and biomedical applications.

LindiweKhotseng is the Associate Professor at the Chemistry Department, University of the Western Cape, South Africa since 2015. Prior to working at the Chemistry Department, she worked as the Managing Director of ESKOM Centre for Electro catalytic Research at the South African Institute for Materials Research, University of the Western Cape, South Africa since 2006. Lindiwe obtained her PhD in Chemistry, University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 2004. She has published in qualified international journals or specialized books and presented in international chemical meetings. Her research focus is on development of novel nanomaterials for energy applications including fuel cells, solar cells, energy storage (i.e. batteries and supercapacitors) and biofuels.

Dr. Yan is a full professor at Sun Yat-sen University at Guangzhou and worked as Ten Thousand Plan Young Talent of China. His groupmainly concentrates on design of environmentally benign nanostructured materials for catalytic transformation of renewable sources into clean energy and value-added products. Dr. Yan’s research interests span the areas of heterogeneous catalysisupgrading of biomass. He started his PhD study at Max-Planck-Institute for Coal Research in 2008 in Germany with the support of Max-Planck-Society Scholarship. He obtained his PhD from RWTH Aachen University in December 2011. After that, he received the Ontario Postdoctoral Fellowship and worked at Lakehead University (Canada) as a postdoctoral fellow in 2012. After that, he joined Brown University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in December 2013. In 2016, he obtained Hundred Talent Plan from Sun Yat-sen University and joined the university in 2017. Since January 2017, he is the leader of clean energy lab and the associate dean of Guangdong Provincial Lab of Resource Utilization. So far, his group has filed over 15 Patents and published over 80 papers in Angewandte Chem., Applied Catalysis B., ACS Catal., Green Chemistry, Small, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Chem. Eng. J.et al. He is the associated Editor of three international journals and editorial member of eight international journals. Since coming to Sun Yat-sen University, Dr. Yan has been the recipient of Hundred Talent Award, Science and Technology Award for Ecological Environment, IAAM Medal Award, National Ten Thousand Talent Award from Central Organization Department of China, Top 1% RSC Highly Cited Chinese Scholar.

Dr. Arinzechukwu Maduabuchi Chidiebere is a lecturer in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria. He holds a B. Sc. (Hons) degree in Industrial Chemistry, M. Sc in Physical Chemistry from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri and Ph.D in Physical Chemistry from the same University. He was a Postgraduate (CAS-TWAS) research fellow (2012 – 2013) at the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China. His research interest is on the formulation of environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors from plant extracts, electrochemical and theoretical investigation of corrosion phenomena in different corrosive environments, molecular modeling of material behavior and electronic structure analysis using density functional theory (DFT) and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. He has made a meaninful contribution to clarifying adsorption and corrosion inhibition mechanisms of some organic molecules as well as application of biomass corrosion inhibitors for protection of metals and has over 25 publications in high impact factor journals. Currently he is working on the Synthesis of non-toxic materials for Supercapacitor Application.
